There was only one place last night (or maybe ever?) to see Nancy Pelosi shaking a maraca on stage to a Lady Antebellum song, and that was at the Grammys on the Hill Awards. Lady A were in the nation's capital for a special shindig last night - the country trio received the Recording Artists' Coalition Award at the "GRAMMYS on the Hill" event, taking place at the Hamilton Live in Washington, DC.
The Recording Academy's Neil Portnow says the award recognizes the group for "their artistry and inventiveness in the country arena" as well as their charitable efforts through their LadyAID Fund.
Other honorees included the House of Representatives Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, who are being acknowledged for their "tireless support of music." The gala includes a cocktail reception and dinner along with the award presentations. Dionne Warwick, Los Lonely Boys, and Hanson are among the music stars expected to attend.
