Tyler Hubbard is making his debut as a solo artist. His first single, “5 Foot 9,” released on Friday (May 20), and the country singer-songwriter took to Instagram to express his gratitude and assure fans that “there’s a lot more where this came from. This is just the beginning, and I’m so excited to share my songs, my story and my journey with you guys.”

His wife, Hayley, also shared a sweet Instagram video on Friday morning, gushing with excitement for “5 Foot 9” to release and crying “happy tears” as Hubbard played his song with the couple’s three young children.

“I’m so excited to share that my debut single ‘5 Foot 9’ is finally here. I wrote this song with Jaren Johnston and Chase McGill, who are not only super talented songwriters, but guys I love and admire. Jordan Schmidt and I produced it, and the song truly took on a life of its own while we were recording,” Hubbard shared. “I think the song is a little reminder that there are a lot of good things in life. After all, ‘God makes the good stuff’ — whiskey, dirt roads, country music. But only He can make the great stuff that this song is really about.”

Hayley posted a heartwarming video of her superstar husband playing “5 Foot 9” with Liv, Atlas and Luca. The kids strummed along on their own instruments as their dad sang his first solo single. As Hayley filmed, Liv looked to her and asked “mommy, are you crying?” Hayley laughed, “yes, they’re happy tears.”

“I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited for a song to come out!! Not only because I love this song and of course I love my husband but because of everything this symbolizes,” Hayley gushed. “It’s been so incredible watching you pour your heart into these songs [Tyler Hubbard] and I can’t wait for the world to finally get a little glimpse of it today. I couldn’t be more proud of you and the journey that you’ve been on in the last couple years and i can’t put into words how lucky I am to have a front row seat to watch you create music that’s so uniquely you. Celebrating this guy today (and every day) so proud of him and this song. I’ve been happy teary-eyed all morning.”
