Lauren Alaina “depicts the strain of a tumultuous relationship” in her scathing new anthem that made its debut on Friday (March 28).

Alaina teamed up with Casey Brown, Lydia Vaughan and Parker Welling to write “Household,” which sees the powerhouse vocalist wondering “how much Hell can a house hold” in an unhealthy relationship. It was produced by Joey Moi.

“Hold it together/ Diamond ring around/ The Rosie Forever/ That’s what good girls do yeah that’s what I’ve been told/ I ain’t a Barbie doll/ He ain’t no Ken/ These four walls about to cave in/ Home sweet home never felt so cold/ How much Hell can a house hold”

“'Household' is the perfect blend of southern grit and sass,” Alaina said in a statement. “We have all been in a 'how much hell can house hold' scenario. I wrote this song after listening to one of my best friends vent about her relationship. It may not reflect my own marriage, but I think it showcases my personality flawlessly.”

“Household” is Alaina’s latest song to release since “Those Kind Of Women,” a sentimental ballad that served as the singer-songwriter’s surprise pregnancy announcement. She and her husband, Cam Arnold, whom she married in February 2024, are expecting Baby No. 1 this year. Alaina is one of several artists welcoming a baby in 2025. Others include Lady A’s Hillary Scott, Lady A’s Charles Kelley, Jordan Davis, Sam Hunt and more. See the list of pregnancy announcements here, and watch Alaina’s “Household” music video below.
