I do find this kinda interesting.
The dating app Hinge analyzed their members' profiles pics to come up with some suggestions on what they say are the most successful dating profile photo practices.
Tips for Women:
Hair- The research shows that women you wear their hair up. Apparently, it gives a 72% chance of getting more likes.
Smile- Showing teeth increases your chance by 72% as well.
Pose- Standing alone gives 69% and not looking directly at the camera gives 74%.
Tips for Men:
Smile- No teeth. This increases the chance of more likes by 43%.
Pose- Standing alone only increased the chances by 11%; however facing the camera head on showed a 102% increased chance in likes.
Tips for All:
- Stay away from beach photos. The potential for likes decreased by 47% for women and 80% for men whose photo is them on the beach.
- Lose the Snapchat Filters. Chances of likes decreased by 90% for users whose photo has a Snapchat filter.
- Bathroom selfies are a definite no-go. This decreased the chances by 90% as well.
