MAN RUNS BACKWARDS IN THE BOSTON MARATHON FOR CHARITY

posted by Cledus T. Party -

On Monday, 30,000 runners raced toward the finish line at the Boston Marathon, but one man -- Loren Zitomersky -- raced toward that finish line backwards.

Loren didn’t do to show off, though. Instead, he did it to raise money and awareness for epilepsy.

He’s been competing in races and events for charity since the age of 12. He’s finished seven marathons, ten bike races and an Iron Man triathlon later, raising more than $300,000 for the Epilepsy Foundation.

To get ready for the challenge this time around, he ran 45 miles backwards each week. He ran the Boston Marathon along with a spotter, so he didn’t end up with a sore neck from turning his head around. (USA Today)
